Your job would be two-fold: a language instructor and cultural ambassador. These two aspects are inseparable, and Interac ALTs aim to become experts in both. Your job is to be the English expert in the classroom, and you may be the main teacher, along with a Japanese teacher present to manage the class.
About Aichi, Fukui, Gifu, Mie and Ishikawa
Aichi, Fukui, Gifu, Mie, and Ishikawa prefectures make up a large part of the southern Chubu region. With the exception of Mie, these prefectures are primarily surrounded by mountains but also have a deep history, particularly Aichi. However, Aichi is famous for its industrial city of Nagoya. Aichi remains a historical site for being the birthplace of warlord Oda Nobunaga. Aichi also remains a famous industrial hub and is the location of Toyota. To the side of Aichi is Gifu, which you may know for Shirakawa-go, a small village comprised of iconic wooden houses. If ancient history is more of your thing, why not consider our positions in Fukui? It has a dedicated dinosaur museum, after all? Ishikawa, although closer to Toyama than Nagoya, is famous for its papercraft and exciting festivals. Lastly, Mie is a coastal city that is laidback as the sea breeze that frequently travels through it.
