Job Description

Happy ABC has been providing English classes for children since 2017. We are a small, friendly, family-style school with a strong at-home feel. We have 2 locations in Tokyo: Itabashi-ku, closest station Chikatetsu Narimasu/Narimasu, and Nishi Tokyo, closest station Hoya. We are now looking for a warm, kind, and dedicated teacher for our elementary-level afternoon 90-min classes(6-12 year olds).

While we have a set curriculum, we highly encourage and support creativity and ideas that could enhance our students' learning in fun and exciting ways. Our classes are run based on a curriculum that entails circle time (songs, storytelling, games, etc.), seasonal crafts, term-based projects and set materials(textbooks). 90 minutes fly by!

Job Description

• Position to fully start from June, with in-class training starting in May
• 90-minute afternoon classes (2-7 students depending on the class)
• Monday/ Friday           - Hoya school        - 2 classes each   (15:15~16:45 and 17:00~18:30)
• Thursday                        - Hoya school        - 1 class                 (17:00~18:30)
• Tuesday/Wednesday   - Itabashi school   -1 class each        (17:00~18:30)
• Some national holidays are working days at our school
•  Halloween/Christmas parties that you may be required to attend on a weekend

Potential candidates are welcome to sit in on some of our classes and get a feel for the work environment before joining our team.

We are looking for someone who :

- is reliable, punctual, and presentable(clean/well put together)

- is willing to learn, to grow with us, and to contribute to the students'/school's development

-is energetic, fun-loving, creative, and supportive

-is able and willing to tap into the child within and sometimes be the silly 3,4,5...10 year-old that they are working with

-is skilled in time and classroom management
